Now, to get into how exactly the mechanics of this will all work! As some of you already know and as has been spoiled in Discord, this Game will have Real-Time-Actions. These will occur during "Life Phase".
The Life Phase will be done entirely on the site. You didn't know it yet, but in this Board, there are a large number of hidden sub-boards. Over the course of the Game, each of these sub-boards will contain a single thread, which will be titled as the room it exists as. The first post in the thread will be by me, and contain both a description of the room, as well as a list and description of the people currently in the room.As a physical example, the sub-board entitled "Session 12" is currently visible to everyone.
In order to move between areas, and thus gain access to these sub-boards, you must PM me with what room you would like to move to. When my behind-the-scenes work is finished, I will PM you back to inform you what sub-board you have access to, and also let you know if anything occurred while you were walking to that area. You will then only be able to see that sub-board and that thread inside. Movement and murder attempts are the only two actions that will be done via PM.
Once you are in a room, you may do whatever you want inside. I included a very basic example of an action in the example thread. Almost anything goes; take items from a room, hide things somewhere, do normal, everyday stuff, assault someone... As long as it's physically possible, and it's not an attempt at murder, you can do whatever you want. Your actions will shape the world. For example, if in my example, I were to leave the Cafe to somewhere else without clearing my place, the dirty dishes on the table would be noted in the description of the room next time someone entered it.
Now, let's say you walk into a room with just one other person in it. Hmm, this looks like a good time to commit some stabbing murder! But how do you do that?
Well, you PM me! Briefly, and quickly, describe how the murder takes place. We're talking as simple as "I stab Codeskull in the back with my knife". Of course, you'll need to have a knife on you to do something like that!
Once that happens, I will make a post in the thread detailing what happens. Then, normal gameplay commences like normal. Hide that knife, or maybe clean and dry it off first! You should probably try to get an alibi, too. You have until either 3 people discover the body, or the Life Phase ends to do whatever you want!
If the Body Discovery Announcement goes off, all players will be gathered in the Gymatorium, and given a Murder File. Everyone will then be allowed to move to one last room to investigate, and then the Trial will start.
If the Life Phase ends before the Body Discovery Announcement, well, then we'll have an interesting Trial. Things will probably go well for the Blackened. You might not want to stick in one place for too long.
If the Life Phase ends and no one has been murdered, then we'll have a different type of Trial entirely. These secondary Trials will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
On Tuesday, 9/24 at 09:30 EST, the first Life Phase will begin. It will end on Thursday, at 03:00 EST. There will, unfortunately also be a period between Tuesday and Wednesday that I need to sleep. Actions sent during this time will still be resolved in order, just delayed while I'm asleep.
